Description
The gatehouse at Denham Lodge, dating from the 16th to 17th century and altered over time, features a front made of coursed rubble stone with a chamfered plinth. The remaining structure has slobbered rendering over brick and stone, with stone quoins and plinths, and exposed timber trusses in the gables. It has an old tile roof and is one storey high, with one bay on each side of the central entrance. The entrance boasts chamfered stone jambs and a wooden lintel. The left bay contains a barred wooden horizontal sliding sash window set in a chamfered stone surround with double hollow-chamfered jambs. A 17th to 18th-century chimney made of thin brick with stone quoins is located on the left side. The trusses have been altered, featuring queen struts and queen post trusses.
