Description
Nos. 1 and 2 Church Lane are a pair of cottages dating from the 17th to 18th century. They are constructed of whitewashed rubble stone with timber lintels over the openings and feature a thatched roof. The left cottage has a stack with a stone base located to the left of center and a brick stack at the right-hand gable. It is two storeys high and has one bay with barred casements on the left, a paired casement in the thatch, and a board door to the right. There is also a two-storey extension to the left made of whitewashed brick with a tiled roof and a paired casement on the first floor. The right cottage has two bays, featuring 3-light casements on the ground floor to the left and first floor, a 2-light casement on the ground floor to the right, and a central board door.
