Description
The gateway to the former stableyard located to the northwest of Chalfont Park House was built in 1755 by Richard Bentley. It features a carriage archway made of red brick with a chamfered Tudor arch. Above the arch, there is a coat of arms and a clock set into the parapet. The gateway is flanked by circular towers that have battlements, cross-loops, and blank arrow-slits, all with cement architraves. The archway on the stableyard side includes a hoodmould and a rebuilt pediment above it. The rest of the stable court has been almost entirely reconstructed.
