Description

The Grand Union Canal Bridge, located to the north of Lock 23 in Stoke Hammond, was built between 1838 and 1839. It is constructed of brown brick and features a band course along with stone coping on the parapet. The bridge has two depressed arches; one spans the canal, while the other was originally intended to cross a narrower duplicate lock that has since been filled in.
