Description
An early 19th-century barn and stable situated to the north of Walters Ash Farmhouse. The barn is timber-framed and clad in weatherboarding, with an old tile roof. It comprises six bays, featuring gabled projecting cart entries in bays two and five, each with double boarded doors. The central bays have a weatherboarded lean-to with small boarded doors; a brick lean-to is located to the right. The stable is constructed of flint, with Denner Hill stone quoins, eaves, and surrounds to the openings, and has an old tile roof. It consists of two bays, with a stable door to the left and a blocked opening to the right. A further stable door and blocked opening, containing a segmental arch and a Denner Hill stone cross above, are found in the gable end. Three later brick buttresses are visible at the rear of the stable.
