Description
This is a timber-framed building dating from the 16th or 17th century, which was altered in the 19th century. It is now divided into three shops. The building has a gabled cross wing at each end. Numbers 40 to 44 have an upper storey which is tile-hung, with two modern bar and transom windows. Number 38 has exposed timber framing, with its upper storey projecting. The ground floor has been altered to accommodate shop fronts.
