Description

No. 47 High Street is a building dating from the 15th or 16th century, featuring gabled cross wings and two storeys. The structure has been refronted, except for the right-hand cross wing, which displays exposed heavy timber framing in the upper storey and gable. The former ground floor carriage entrance has been closed off with a plate glass window. There is a 19th-century projecting hood above the ground floor on the left-hand cross wing and part of the central block. This building was formerly a butcher shop and has two small modern gables added to the central block.
