Description

The barn at Pennlands Farm dates from the late 18th century and underwent alterations in the mid-19th century, with the date of 1861 carved on a beam. It features a brick plinth, is timber framed, and has weatherboarding with a machine-tile roof. The structure consists of five bays, with central projecting cart entrances flanked by lean-to buildings on the farmyard side. Inside, jowled posts support braced queen post trusses, and the walls are made of close vertical studding.
