Description

This is an early 18th-century house, with a rear wing dating back to the 17th century, and later alterations. The front range is timber-framed with brick infill to the rear, and has a distinctive facade of brick in a chequered pattern, featuring dark-glazed brick headers, a moulded plinth, and eaves. The roof is tiled, hipped on the right, with rebuilt brick chimneys on the left and between the right bays. It is arranged in an L-shape, with the right side rebuilt in brick during the 19th century. The house has two storeys and three bays. The windows on the front are 19th-century, three-light wooden casements with cambered heads; the lower left window and upper right window are blocked. A wide 20th-century door is centrally positioned, also with a cambered head. The left gable has two blind window panels with segmental heads on each floor; the lower left panel has been converted into a boarded door, while the lower right panel contains a small two-light casement. The rear wing is timber-framed with brick infill, with the ground floor partially rebuilt in the 19th century. It has a tiled roof, hipped on the right, with a 19th-century brick chimney in the centre. The rear wing also features two storeys and three bays, with 19th-century paired barred wooden casements in the left bays and a blank right bay. Doors are present on the left and centre of the rear wing, and a 19th-century lean-to has been added to the right. The rear wall has been rebuilt in the 19th century.
