Description

Radclive Manor is a manor house originally built in the 16th century with a timber frame and brick infill. It was enlarged and recased in rubblestone in 1621, as indicated by a plaque on the rear. The house features a tiled roof that is half-hipped to the north. There are stacks on the left and right sides with five square shafts set diagonally, and a similar stack with three shafts at the center. The front has a moulded wooden eaves cornice.

The manor has two storeys and an attic, with wooden mullion and transom windows that have leaded panes. The attic gable ends feature two-light windows without transoms. The west front is irregular, with a gabled bay to the right and a lean-to to the left. On the first floor, there are six two-light windows, with the one above the door lacking a transom. The ground floor includes a four-light window in the left-hand bay, a two-light window and a single casement flanking the doorway, a central three-light window, and a 19th-century canted bay in the gable end with sash windows and a half-glazed door. The doorway to the left of center has a Tudor hood-mould with a carved shell motif above it.

The east front has three gables, with two on the right projecting similar two-light windows without transoms in the ground floor left-hand bay and above the door. There is a door in the angle that has a flat hood.

Inside, there is an early 17th-century wooden screen with embellished arches on Doric columns, which has been re-set in the hall. The northeast ground floor room features 18th-century panelling and a fireplace, while an adjacent room has 16th to early 17th-century panelling. The mid-17th-century staircase has newels with ball-finials, a moulded handrail, and an elaborate pierced balustrade.
