Description

The Millhouse is an early 18th-century former mill and miller’s house, later converted into a single dwelling. It is constructed of rubblestone with rendered brick gable attics, and has a slate roof to the mill section and a tiled roof to the house. A stack of thin brick with a pilaster is located at the rear of the house, while the mill has a 20th-century chimney shaft to one side. The building is two storeys and has an attic. The north-east front features two gabled bays belonging to the house on the right-hand side, with sash windows to the attic and first floor, and wooden and metal casements to the ground floor. A matching later addition forms the right-hand bay. The mill section has a blank wall with a single dormer window. A 20th-century extension projects to the centre of the building, gabled to the front, and features wooden casements and a double-panelled door.
