Description

Radclive Hall and Radclive Hall Chantry (formerly the servants wing of Radclive Hall) is a house, originally a former rectory, dating to around 1840-50. It features a classical re-fronting of an older building. The facade is stuccoed with stone dressings. The roof is slate, with chimneys on either side. It is two storeys high. The ground floor is rusticated, with chamfered and vermiculated quoins and window surrounds. A moulded string course separates the ground and first floors; the first floor features chamfered quoins, a moulded cornice, and architrave surrounds to the windows, with pediments above – triangular in the central bay and segmental in the flanking bays. The window sills rest on embellished paired scrolls. There are five bays of sash windows. A central panelled, half-glazed door has a semi-circular fanlight and keyblock, and is set within an architrave surround. A Doric porch and roof parapet were removed in the 19th century. The interiors are also from the 19th century, with panelling in the front left-hand room.
