Description
The war memorial in Radclive, commemorating those who died in World War I, was erected in 1919 and is possibly designed by F.E. Howard. It is made of stone and features a square plinth with a cill and a smaller square tier beneath. The base is broached, leading to a six-sided shaft that tapers to a decorative collar. At the top, there is a flared and fluted cross adorned with foliate decoration at the ends of the arms, along with a three-dimensional figure of Christ. One face of the plinth is inscribed in gothic lettering: "In thankful remembrance of those from this parish who laid down their lives in the Great War 1914-1919." The memorial is situated in the churchyard of the Radclive parish church, and the names of the fallen are recorded on a wall plaque inside the church.
