Description
79-81 High Street is a late 18th-century building that stands three storeys high with a cellar. It is constructed of brick and features a moulded wood cornice and a parapet with stone coping. The roof is covered with old tiles and is hipped. The front of the building has three bays, with two-storey angular bays on either side that have a delicate cornice. The ground floor includes modern round bay windows that are in keeping with the building's character. The central door is modern but set within a doorcase that has delicate reeded pilasters, carved scroll brackets, a reeded frieze, and a flat moulded and dentilled cornice hood, with a central panel above. The second floor windows are adorned with reeded architraves and roundels at the corners.
