Description
The Studio is a cottage with an outbuilding that has been converted into a studio, located in the hamlet of Hillsden. It dates from the 17th to 18th century and has undergone alterations. The cottage features a whitewashed timber frame with brick infill on the left and render on the right, topped with a thatched roof and a brick stack on the right. It is 1½ storeys tall and consists of one bay. The cottage has leaded casements, with a three-light window on the ground floor to the right and paired windows on the first floor above a boarded door, which is sheltered by a thatched concrete block porch. The studio section is constructed from a mix of rubble stone, render, and timber framing on the right, also with a thatched roof. It includes large 20th-century casements and two small leaded casements in the right-hand bay.
