Description
The Plough Inn is an 18th-century public house located on the north side of High Street in West Wycombe. The front of the building dates from around 1727, while the back elevation was constructed around 1743. It features colour washed brick and an old tiled roof, standing two storeys high. The façade has one window on each floor: a wooden oriel bay window on brackets at ground level and a double hung 19th-century sash window without glazing bars on the first floor. There is a flush panelled door set in a moulded wood frame, with a cornice hood above both the door and the window. The interior is reported to include an 18th-century open fireplace. The Plough Inn is part of a group of listed buildings that includes Nos 35 to 37 (consecutive), The Church Loft, Nos 45 to 54 (consecutive), Nos 56 to 59 (consecutive), Steps House, The Apple Orchard, The Old Smithy, West Wycombe Estate Office, Rose Cottage, and Ness Cottage.
