Description

This is a late 18th-century terrace of cottages, originally called York Terrace. The buildings are constructed of brick, with most of the facades covered in roughcast rendering. The original tile roofs have been largely replaced with concrete tiles, except at number 87 where some original tiles remain. Brick chimneys are present, some of which have been rebuilt while others have been rendered. The terrace is two storeys high and features pairs of doors, which are mostly renewed. Each cottage has a three-light casement window on the ground floor, with a segmental arch above the head, and a two-light casement window on the first floor. The windows largely incorporate modern joinery. Number 79 includes a shop window, a gabled eaves dormer, and a 19th-century sash window above. A small extension is located to the left-hand side.
