Description
Dormer Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of witchert, which is colourwashed pink and roughcast, with the west gable being timber-framed and featuring brick infill. The east gable is made of 18th-century brick above a band course. The building has old tile roofs.
The main house consists of two bays and two storeys, with a projecting jettied bay on the right and a single storey plus attic wing of two bays on the left. The main house has extended eaves over a modern porch on the left, which features a 19th-century four-panel door and a two-light leaded casement window. Above this, there is a two-light gabled eaves dormer. The jettied wing has a two-light casement window on the ground floor and leaded casements on the first floor, along with exposed jetty joists and a hipped roof. The left bays include one two-light dormer.
Inside, the cottage features chamfered and stopped spine beams and an inglenook fireplace on the left. There is a tall, thin brick stack on the left side of the main house.
