Description
The Homestead is a house that was formerly used as accommodation for gardeners on the Eythrope estate. It was built around 1880-1890, possibly designed by W. Taylor of Bierton for Alice de Rothschild. The left bay is primarily made of ashlar, while the second bay features half-timbered and tile-hung upper storeys that each jettied on beam ends. The two bays to the right are constructed with red and vitreous brick on the ground floor and colourwashed roughcast above. The building has tiled roofs and brick chimneys with pilasters, contributing to its picturesque appearance. It is mostly two storeys high, with the second bay having a third storey and a half-hipped gable. The windows are wooden casements. The Homestead is included in the listing for its group value.
