Description
Dolphin Cottage is a seventeenth-century cottage, significantly altered since its original construction. It is built of painted and rendered witchert and rubble stone, with a thatched roof that is hipped to the left-hand side and has a half-hipped gable to the right. A central brick chimney was added later, and there’s an additional chimney to the left-hand end. There are two dormers in the eaves. A small, modern open porch with a thatched roof sits centrally, sheltering a half-glazed door. To the left of the porch is a small slated lean-to addition, and a one-light casement window. A further one-light casement is located to the right of the porch, and a three-light wooden casement window faces to the right. A rear wing, rendered and thatched with a half-hipped gable, extends from the main body of the cottage and contains two storeys and one bay, with three-light wooden casement windows.
