Description
The Stone Village Hall is a building of group value, constructed in 1911 and designed by Clough Williams Ellis. It is largely brick, with a rendered and painted facade, and has a pantile roof. A square louvred turret rises from the roof, topped with a helmet-shaped copper roof and weathervane. The building appears as a single storey, but the gabled front has a two-storey appearance. The projecting ground floor has a central door flanked by Doric columns, with barred windows fitted with shutters on each side. The gable features a shallow Venetian window, now filled in and rendered. The sides have five bays of cross-mullioned windows with small panes, and doors are located in the second bay. At the far end, a lower roofed section extends for four bays, with a door on either side, sheltered by a five-sided canopy. The interior has been altered by the insertion of a ceiling.
