Description

The barn at Stonethorpe Farm, formerly part of Vicarage Farm, dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with brick bands and dressings, topped with an old tile roof featuring hipped gables. The barn has north and south bays, with additional brickwork, and the north gable elevation is timber framed with brick infill. There is an off-centre wagon entry. Inside, the barn consists of six bays and has a double purlin roof. The two trusses at the north end feature raking queenposts with collars to the upper purlins, while the two southern trusses are mid-19th century kingposts.
