Description
The barn located to the south-west of Roughwood Farmhouse is an early 18th century structure featuring three bays, constructed with a timber frame and weatherboarding. It has a brick plinth and an old tiled roof. The barn includes a central entry with a gabled porch on the south side. Inside, it has queen strut trusses with curved braces supporting the tie beams, as well as curved braces in the wall framing. The west end and the south side of the west bay have lean-tos, some of which are enclosed while others are open-fronted. Additionally, there is an 18th century two-storey red brick range at a right angle to the barn, which has a hipped tiled roof, dentil eaves, and iron casements.
