Description

The Rectory, built around 1730, is a two-storey building with a basement and attics, constructed from yellow brick and topped with a hipped tile roof featuring three box dormers that have 2-light leaded casements. The south elevation has a slight central projection adorned with a dentil open pediment, which contains a two-storey round-headed panel with impost bands. This facade includes five double-hung sash windows set in reveals with sills and flat arches. There are two flights of converging steps with ornate wrought iron railings leading to the central ground floor door, which features an oblong fanlight and is framed by fluted Roman Ionic pilasters topped with an entablature that includes paterae and a dentil cornice.

On the north elevation, there is a central round-headed window on the first floor, flanked by one narrow sash window on each side, along with projecting stacks and narrow dummy windows. An early 19th-century two-storey lean-to with a slate roof features a central pedimented porch, which has a six-panel door in an architrave, flanked by two circular windows with architraves and wheel pattern glazing. A red brick wing on the east is now connected by a wall and has a tiled roof. The east elevation displays two gables with brick coping and dummy lunettes, along with three double-hung sash windows with segmental arches. There is also a cross wing on the west side that features similar gable treatment.
