Description
The Greyhound Inn is a building that dates from the 16th and 18th centuries. The 16th-century section features a timber frame with whitewashed brick nogging and has an old tiled roof. It is two storeys high and has modern casement windows, along with curved wind braces. The 18th-century part is constructed with red stretchers and grey headers, also featuring a hipped old tiled roof with a moulded cornice. This section is also two storeys tall and includes a first-floor band with cyma reversa moulding and five double-hung sash windows with flat arches. A modern bow window has replaced the original carriageway. The west elevation displays a range of hipped tiled roof projections. The inn is reputedly built for Judge Jeffreys.
