Description
Lawn House is a house dating from the 17th century that has been altered over time. The rear of the house features an exposed timber frame, while the gables and first floor of the left bay are also timber-framed. The brick infill includes some thin 17th-century brick and herringbone patterns. The front range has been mostly rebuilt in red and vitreous brick during the early 19th century and later. The rear wing is entirely made of thin brick, with a first-floor band course and a rubble stone plinth. The house has old tile roofs, with a chimney made of thin brick located between the left bays of the front range and another thin brick chimney on the rear wing. There is also a small 20th-century external chimney at the front between the right bays. The house is two storeys high and has three bays, featuring irregular 20th-century diamond leaded casements. A 20th-century gabled porch is situated between the left bays. The rear wing includes a basement and an attic with a dormer window. According to the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England, the interior has one room with 17th-century panelling, a stone fireplace with a depressed arch on the first floor, and part of a 17th-century balustrade at the staircase landing.
