Description
The garden room and boundary walls to the north and west of Dinton Hall date from the 18th and early 19th centuries. The walls, made of rubblestone and standing eight feet high, form the east and north sides of the north forecourt of Dinton Hall, featuring pitched coping on the outer side. The walls continue at this height to the garden room located northwest of the house, then reduce to six feet as they extend past a dovecote before returning south for about fifteen feet. Originally, the walls continued south to form the western boundary of the grounds.
The garden room is built on a high rubblestone plinth, with its upper storey constructed of 18th-century brick and topped with a pyramidal roof covered in old tiles. There is a blocked opening on the west side, and the eaves are moulded brick. The east side features a central opening at the top of the steps, flanked by trellised openings. Halfway along the north wall, there is an arched opening with crenellations on the outer side, which includes a late 16th-century door made of oak battens.
