Description
No. 21 Church End is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations and extensions made in the 18th century. The building is constructed of witchert, which is colourwashed and roughcast, with the ground floor partly made of rubblestone. It has a mansarded roof covered with old tiles and is 1½ storeys high with three bays. The original door, which led into a lobby in front of the stack between the left-hand bays, has been relocated to the left under a lean-to open porch. The windows are barred casements, with two 3-light and two 2-light windows, as well as 2-light leaded casements in two eaves dormers. There is a stack situated between the left-hand bays. At the rear, there is a two-storey addition that is also roughcast and colourwashed. Inside, the cottage features chamfered and stopped spine beams and an inglenook fireplace.
