Description
The Old Butchers' Arms is a house that was formerly a public house, dating from the mid to late 18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century and later. The building is constructed of brick, featuring lower storeys of chequer brick with a plinth and a first-floor band course, while the upper storey is made of 19th-century brick with dentil eaves. The left gable includes a second-floor band course. The roof is slate, topped with a central brick chimney. The structure has three storeys and a cellar, with two bays.
The ground floor has three-light wooden casements with horizontal glazing bars, while the first floor features old barred wooden casements. The second floor has 20th-century plastic casements. A central 20th-century gabled porch is present, with a 20th-century two-light barred wooden casement above it. To the right, there is a 19th-century extension made of stone and brick, which has two storeys and one bay of three-light barred wooden casements, along with a half-glazed door. A cellar window is located in the left gable.
