Description
Thatched Cottage is a house dating from the 17th to early 18th century, which has been altered over time. The building features a two-storey gabled cross wing on the left, constructed from timber framing with whitewashed brick infill. The right gable has similar framing, while the two bays to the right are made of whitewashed coursed rubble stone with a plinth. The roofs are thatched, and there is a square brick chimney situated between the right bays, along with another brick chimney featuring a 19th-century cogged base at the center of the cross wing. The two bays on the right are one storey with an attic and include paired leaded casements on the ground floor, with the right window set in a heavy wooden frame. There are also paired wooden casements in gabled dormers with tiled aprons, and a blocked doorway with a small single casement in the center. The left bay has paired wooden casements, and there is an entry at the rear. Inside, the cottage features chamfered spine beams and open fireplaces.
