Description

The Church of St James is a parish church built in 1610, with modern additions. It features red brick construction with quoins and plaster dressings. The chancel and south aisle were added between 1877 and 1884 by the architect G E Street. Inside, there is a large monument dedicated to Sir Marmaduke Dayrell, dating from 1631. This church is noted as a rare example of an early 17th-century church.
