Description

Magpie Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that has been altered and restored in the 20th century. It is timber framed with white painted brick infill, some laid in a herringbone pattern. The roof is thatched, half-hipped at the west end and sloping down towards the east end. The south front has two dormers in the thatched roof and two doors, as well as irregular wooden casement windows on the ground floor. The building is documented in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, Volume I, page 283, and referenced in Mons.14-18.
