Description
Crow Trees is a house built in 1679, with alterations, and a barn likely from the 18th century. The structure is made of slobbered rubble and has a slate roof. It has two storeys with an attic. To the right of the entrance door, there are paired sashed windows without glazing bars, featuring a plain stone surround and a central flat-faced mullion. Next to these is a fire window with plain reveals. To the left of the door, there is a two-light window with a stone surround and flat-faced mullion. On the first floor, there are two similar windows, and to their right is a three-light window with rebated and chamfered mullions. A drip course runs above the doorway, which is framed by an open gabled stone porch and a moulded surround with a shaped lintel inscribed with 'IRF 1679'. The left side of the house has an additional bay with sashed windows that have plain reveals. There are chimneys on the gables and to the right of the left-hand bay, with the left-hand chimney featuring a projecting stack. The left gable has two-light rebated and chamfered mullioned windows on the first and attic floors. A rear wing includes a round chimney cap. The interior was not accessible during the survey, but it is reported to have an oak staircase and two shell niches with fluted pilasters. The barn on the right has a lower ridge and features a wide entrance with a segmental arch, along with a smaller doorway on the left. The right part of the barn's front wall is covered by a modern lean-to.
