Description
Fell View Farmhouse and adjoining buildings date from the early 19th century. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed rubble, rendered with incised stucco to the front and a rough, lime-based render ("slobber") to the rear. It has a graduated slate roof with stone copings and kneelers, and stone end chimneys. The two-storey, three-bay front features a plank front door with a two-light mullioned window to the right, both set within stone surrounds. A stair window between the floors has a traceried semicircular head with a keystone and decorative blocks framing the surround, and has a sixteen-pane sash window. There is a part-glazed central door in a wooden surround with wooden consoles supporting a stone cornice on the rear of the house, with single sash windows to either side on each floor (the central first-floor window is a 20th-century addition). To the north of the farmhouse is a group of outbuildings with graduated slate roofs (flagstone roofs to the rear). These outbuildings have a segmental head over the front wagon door, and blocked openings at the rear. To the south of the farmhouse is a store building, also under a graduated slate roof. At the rear of this store, a ramp leads up to a wagon door with a segmental head.
