Description

This is a late 18th-century stableblock, originally part of Draycott Hall, now converted into flats. It is located approximately 15 metres north-west of the main hall. The building is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a Westmorland slate roof. It comprises a central coach house flanked by two wings. The central section of the stableblock projects forward and features quoins to all corners. The central section has two board coach doors set beneath keyed stone arches. Long, fixed windows are found in the former doorways of the wings, each with a radial fanlight and milled stone surrounds, with four-pane sashes in milled stone surrounds on either side. The central section of the roof has two oculi, and the wings have sashes with glazing bars in milled stone surrounds. A central pediment tops the building, and the roof is hipped.
