Description
Sunnyside and Sunnybank is a house and barn that have been converted into two houses. They date from the mid to late 18th century and have undergone alterations in the mid-20th century. The buildings are constructed of grey gritstone rubble and feature a graduated stone slate roof.
On the right is a two-storey, two-bay house, while the former two-bay barn and byre on the left has also been converted into a two-storey house. The original house and barn have quoins. The Sunnybank house has a mid-20th century half-glazed door to the left of the center, surrounded by flat-faced mullion windows on both the ground and first floors. There are end stacks on the building.
The former barn on the left features a half-glazed door in a plain surround, which is likely the original entrance to the byre, located at the far left. To the right, there are remains of a left quoined jamb and pitched stone voussoirs that form a slightly cambered arch of the former cart entrance. The right jamb is formed by the quoins of the house. There are plain surrounds to the windows, with two on each floor. The buildings are included for their group value.
