Description

Hell Gill Bridge is a bridge built in the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of rubble and features a single segmental arch made of rubble voussoirs, which has a partial hood-mould. The bridge has slab coping on its parapets. It once carried the main road from Wensleydale to Westmorland until the 19th century. Hell Gill Bridge is noted in Leland's Itinerary and was also the location of an annual fair.
