Description
Toft House is a house dating from the late 17th century and mid 18th century, constructed of gritstone rubble with a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and three bays, featuring a low two-storey porch at the first bay. It has quoins and a 20th-century board door in a plain tie-stone surround at the porch, with a two-light window in an architrave above. Between the second and third bays is another board door with a tie-stone surround, flanked by three-light flat-faced mullion windows on each floor. The porch and main roof have shaped kneelers and gable coping, and there are corniced end stacks. The interior has not been inspected during the resurvey but is reported to contain a large fireplace on the left with a two-stone arch designed to imitate joggled voussoirs.
