Description

This is a disused lime-kiln from the 18th century, located approximately 15 metres south-east of the ruins of St Simon's Chapel in East Scrafton. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and has a circular shape. The kiln features a V-shaped hearth that is covered by a segmental arch. At the top, there is a circular hole, which can be accessed via a ramp from Sleight Lane. The lime-kiln was used to serve the nearby quarry.
