Description

Crow Trees Cottage is a house from the late 17th century that has been altered, with an adjoining barn likely built in the late 18th century. The structure is made of sandstone rubble and has a slate roof. It is two storeys high and has two bays. The windows are paired sashes without glazing bars, set in stone surrounds with central flat-faced mullions. The left-hand ground-floor window features rebated and chamfered mullions, with one light to the left of a king mullion and three to the right. A portion of a drip course is visible above the ground floor. The door, located between the bays, has plain reveals and a hood made of two pitched slates. The building has chimneys at both ends. At the rear, there is a wing that likely contains a stair, featuring rebated and chamfered mullioned windows. The interior was not accessible during the survey but is reported to include an old stair and a salt cupboard. The barn, located to the left under a continuous roof, has a wide entrance with a segmental arch and plain reveals. There are doors with plain reveals on both the right and left sides, with the left door now blocked to create a window. To the right of the main entrance, there is a modern wide opening with plain reveals and a concrete lintel, along with a window to its right, also with plain reveals.
