Description
The gatepiers and gates at Eshton Hall were built between 1825 and 1827 by George Webster. They are constructed from ashlar and feature two square piers with a plinth, which are adorned with clasping Doric pilasters and an entablature that includes triglyphs. Large scrolls extend down to short wing walls made of plain ashlar, which end in octagonal piers topped with cornices and large ball finials. The gates themselves are heavy and include star finials and rosettes made of cast iron, along with scrolly infill crafted from wrought iron.
