Description
The dovecote located approximately 30 metres north-east of Leck Hall dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of rubble and features a slate roof. The west facade is symmetrical, consisting of a central two-storey block with a square plan, flanked by single-storey sections on the north and south, each covered by lean-to roofs. These sections contain blocked oculus windows with plain stone surrounds. The central block has blocked openings and a lunette opening with a plain stone surround on the first floor. It is topped with a hipped slate roof, which has an octagonal lantern at its apex, featuring pigeon holes around its base, a lead cap with a ball finial, and a weather vane. The east wall is slightly convex and includes openings with plain reveals. The central block has a door and a window on the ground floor, along with a doorway above, while each side features a door and a window.
