Description

This small stable block, dating from the 18th century, is located 30 metres north of the priory in Chalton. It has a rectangular shape with brick walls and a half-hipped tile roof, featuring simple openings. At the east end, which adjoins the churchyard wall, there is a stairway that leads to an open landing beneath a canopy created by the roof, complete with a doorway. A wrought iron railing is present on the outside. The staircase provided direct access from the former rectory through a door in the churchyard wall.
