Description

Swanbourne Lodge Gate Posts are a pair of gatepiers designed in 1893 by architect William Burn. They are constructed from Doulting stone and are octagonal in shape, standing on a plinth. Each gatepier features ornamental carved capitals topped with ball finials that have additional carved detail. A drawing by Burn is held in the Arundel Castle Archives, specifically in the Architectural Drawings collection AD 70.
