Description
Grange and Rose Cottages are a pair of cottages located in Tichborne, dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. They are constructed of brick with a rendered plinth and feature a thatched roof, with tiled roofing around the valleys and dormers. The main structure is a four-bay building from the 18th century, with 19th-century gabled wings that slightly project at each end. The front has six bays and is one and a half stories high. The central bays contain 19th and 20th-century segmental-headed casements, while the end bays have similar two and three-light casements on each floor. At both ends of the central section, there are 20th-century gabled dormers with two-light casements. The roof has thatch on the main part between the stacks and on the wings, which also feature bargeboards on the gable ends. The roof is tiled around the valleys, stacks, and dormers.
