Description
New Barn is a barn built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of knapped flint with some random brickwork near the top, featuring a mix of red and stock brick lacing courses and quoins. The barn has six ventilation slits arranged in three tiers and a half-hipped roof that is now covered in corrugated iron. There are double cart entrances, two loading doors on the end elevation with pintle hinges, and two openings on the rear elevation. At the front, there is a flint foldyard wall with red brick quoins. Inside, the barn has seven bays with angled queen struts, a tie beam, staggered purlins, and passing braces that connect to upright posts on brick padstones. The upright posts flanking the cart doors have a typical 18th-century profile.
