Description

House, originally fronting Potter’s Lane in Lewes, now situated on the north side of Southover Street. It dates to the late 16th or early 17th century and was restored in the 20th century. The house is timber-framed, with a ground floor built of flint and brick, and a first floor of close-studded timber with mid-rails across the centre and below the eaves, which act as cill and lintel bands. The roof is covered in plain tiles and incorporates a stack behind the ridge. A gabled dormer window is located to the left of centre. The building has two storeys, with a jetty projecting over the ground floor, supported by curved brackets. It has two window openings on the first floor and three on the ground floor, with lattice casement windows; a door is positioned to the left of centre.
