Description
The house adjoining the old Post Office is a 16th-century building that has been divided into two dwellings. It is two storeys high and features three windows. The roof is very steeply pitched and tiled, with a large central chimney stack made of narrow brick, which has several shafts and an elaborate cornice. The front of the house is plastered. It has one- and three-light sash windows, with two dating from the early 19th century and others being later replacements. On the right side, there is a small later bay window, and a projecting front extension that contains a mid-19th-century door framed with a diamond pattern and a small trellis porch. This extension also features a General Post Office letterbox. On the left side, there is a mid-19th-century door set in an older box frame, which is sheltered by a bracketed hood.
