Description
The Bat and Ball Inn is a public house built in the late 18th century, with early 20th century extensions. It features brickwork with some tile hanging on the first floor and has a half-hipped tile roof with a large tapered chimney stack. The west front of the original part has two storeys and two windows with casements. There is a gabled brick porch. The larger rear extensions are in a similar style. A 20th century sign depicts a cricket match from the 18th century, highlighting the building's association with early cricket played on Broadhalfpenny Down, which is located across in an adjoining parish and district.
