Description

The Cricket Memorial is a 20th-century memorial located on Broadhalfpenny Down in Hambledon. It consists of a rough granite square pillar that rests on a base made up of two steps. The east face of the pillar features a panel with raised carving, depicting a cricket ball positioned at the center of double stumps that are linked at the head, with a cricket bat of 18th-century design on either side. An incised panel on the first step reads, "This Stone Marks the Site of the Ground of the Hambledon Cricket Club circa 1750-1787."
